Matthew McConaughey’s longtime model girlfriend, Camila Alves, has given birth to the couple’s first child, a 7-pound, 4-ounce boy.

Alves, 24, gave birth Monday night in California, McConaughey’s publicist, Alan Nierob, said in an e-mail Tuesday.

According to OK! magazine, the couple named their son Levi Alves McConaughey. McConaughey told OK!, "Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person. Our son was born at 6:22 p.m., and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light’.
